The Power of Your Voice

The Power of Your Voice

AUTHOR, SPEAKER, PUBLISHER ALEXA BIGWARFE

The Notable Woman is proud to present the Super U Summit, 30 empowering women speakers over 10 days.

In this Super U Summit Talk, publisher Alexa Bigwarfe talks about using the power of your voice to help others and grow your influence to do even more good in the world.

WHO’S ALEXA?

Alexa Bigwarfe is an author, speaker, and publisher. Her writing career began as a therapeutic journey after her infant daughter passed away at 2-days old. Her debut book, Sunshine After the Storm: A Survival Guide for the Grieving Mother, launched an unexpected career in publishing and author coaching. Her most recent book, Ditch the Fear and Just Write It! is a guide to help female entrepreneurs who know they want to write a book but need the push to get started. She hosts the Women in Publishing Summit, her third online summit for writers, but the first focused solely on women.

TELL ME MORE ABOUT THE TALK TOPIC

From Alexa:

1. Your words can really change someone’s world
2. Your story matters and can impact someone greatly. I heard Lisa Nichols tell a story about how she beta tested a book in front of an audience. Each week they read a chapter and provided feedback. One gentleman reached out to her and said before reading the chapter, he had decided to take his life. But her chapter moved him in a way he thought her book could help him. So he committed to not doing it until he finished the book. And her book saved his life.
3. Clients are attracted to you if you can weave your story into your business. They want to know why. People look at the name “Kat Biggie Press” completely differently when they know I chose that name to honor and memorialize my deceased child, Kathryn Bigwarfe. It matters.

“I speak my truth and easily share my voice.”

FREE GIFT FOR YOU

Alexa’s free gift for you is an e-copy of her book, Ditch the Fear and Just Write It. You can check it out here.

About Cristin Downs

Cristin Downs is an alchemist, theatrical thinker, producer, educator, speaker, and podcaster. She rules her tiny roost at Pace University as the director of the continuing studies unit. She’s had a pretty eclectic career, but moments that truly defined her sense of self: becoming a strong woman leader and independent thinker at Cedar Crest College, learning arts exceptionalism at UC Irvine’s School of the Arts, experiencing first-rate business processes with the mouse at Disneyland Resort, and becoming an activist at Riverside Church. Meeting Ruby Dee, Robert Downey Jr., James Earl Jones, Ntozake Shange, and Dana Reeve were all fairly awesome moments. Cristin loves to read, the theatre, dancing in the kitchen, and her family and friends.
